My first ever car accident

I shall interrupt this silence with a breaking news from CNN......

Yesterday (Monday) about 3.15pm at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, a silver toyota corolla collided with a grey myvi. No serious casulties and injuries. And the driver of the corolla is ME lar! The Myvi's driver is a girl from Foundation Business. I really want to kill her. You will know why when u finish reading this long entry.

I've reported this incident to the head of security. I'm too lazy to retype this incident so I shall paste (and edit) an excerpt from my complaint letter to the head of security:

Below are the details of the accident:
It happened around 3.15pm at the blind corner of Block B building. I was driving my Silver Toyota Corolla (plate number:XXXXXX)very, very slowly (about 20km/hr) from the E block car park towards the lake. Ms Chan, in her Grey Myvi was coming from the opposite direction.

I saw her speeding right after the speed hump at the lake. Worried that she will cause casualties, I stopped by car immediately and my car was STATIONARY before she hit me. I also honned but it was too late. Her car was too fast. She did not manage to brake in time although she tried to swerve to her left. I cannot move my car since my left side was obstructed by the cars parking at the side. She banged into my car.

Additional info from SY:Cars are allowed to park on that road and often occupy almost 1 lane width of the road (about ½ of the road width). The road is also windy= loads of blind corners. Common sense will tell you to slow down, don't drive so fast.

The damage:
My car: Right signal light mirror broken, with dents and scratches.
Her car: Minor scratch across the right back and front door. with 1 minor dent (size of a thumb)

I wanted to resolve the problem yesterday but since she was late for class (her class was at 3pm), I just got her contact number and we had a meeting later in the evening.

Note from SY: She brought 3 guys to the meeting. Want to beat me up izzit? Luckily 1 kept his mouth shut, the other was reasonable. And during the meeting, I find myself negotiating with her 'boyfriend', not herself. She was busy talking on the phone with her dad. Aih spoilt child i guess.

However, during the meeting, her terms were very unreasonable. This incident was clearly her fault and she gave me 2 options:
1. I pay for the damage done to her car whilst she pays for mine.
2. Send both our cars to the same workshop

I cannot comply to the 1st option because it was not my fault at all. She should have knew that that road is an accident-prone area and slow down (instead of speeding).

I also cannot comply to the 2nd option because being a pharmacy student, our timetables are always jammed packed. I have to go back home in PJ during weekends and her house is too far away--- Cheras. We tried to negotiate about the timing but it was just not suitable. Our conclusion was to fix our own cars at our own time and place.

At the time of the accident, Ms Chan's car was fully occupied. I drove alone. We do not have a reliable witness in this case. The only reliable, neutral witnesses are the ducks of the lake. Now if only the ducks can talk....

Today, I was supposed meet her with the Head of Security at 8am at the guard house to negotiate. BUT, SHE DID NOT TURN UP. I called her many times but she didn't pick up. 15 minutes later, I recieved a sms from her, saying that she can't come today. I tried to call her again and again, and apparently she was driving (again sms). She was supposed to call me when she reaches uni but she didn't. I called her again. I got so fed up of her. What a b****!!!! I don't understand her. Why can't she CALL instead of SMS? can't she sense the URGENCY of this matter? Now she's blaming me for complicating things and she claims to want to settle this thing ASAP. She wanted to postpone this discussion till tomorrow (i guess she doesn't want me to make a police report). She will be bringing her dad along. Note how contradicting her words are.

I became a CSI agent this morning. I found her car (thank godness) and took pictures of the damage before she does something else to it tomorrow.

Later in the afternoon I went to see the Head of Security and explained my situation to him. I asked for his advice on making a police report and he suggests me not to make first. Well, at least he knows my side of the story just in case that parent turns out to be not negotiable.

Tomorrow, she will be bringing her father to negotiate the terms and I am really afraid that I will be bullied by both of them. The Head of Security is informed about this incident and he will be there to be the 3rd party (hopefully back me up).

If this case turns sour, I will write to the Vice President (they don't have VC here) and even the CEO. I will make sure that her name gets blacklisted (I got her full name hahaha) and she cannot drive her car ever into the uni again. mwahaha ok that was my hallucination.

I am right from the start and I deserved to be paid, not to pay for someone's recklessness.

KILL HER!!

Hopefully everything goes fine tomorrow and I get back what I should.

Bye bye!

More updates on this event tomorrow.

About the chinese words above

This is for the benefit of my non-mandarin speaking friends.

The chinese characters found on the top of the layout basically means (according to verse):

    Secretly I left,
    Just as secretly as I came;
With a flicker of my sleeve (I departed)*,
Without bringing away a wisp of crimson cloud.
